How much does a charter cost?

How far in advance should I book?

We recommend booking 6-8 weeks in advance during peak tuna season (November through March). Summer months can often be booked 2-4 weeks out. The earlier you book, the better your date selection.

What is your cancellation policy?

A 50% deposit secures your date. Full refund if cancelled 14+ days before the trip. Cancellations within 14 days forfeit the deposit unless we can fill the date. Weather cancellations are always fully refunded — Captain Blake makes the final call on weather safety.

Do you offer half-day trips?

Our standard offshore trip is a full 10-hour day — that's what it takes to reach the best fishing grounds and give you a proper experience. Inshore half-day trips (4 hours) can be arranged. Contact us to discuss.

What time do we depart?

Offshore trips depart at 5:00 AM. Inshore trips depart at 6:00 AM. We meet at the dock 15 minutes before departure. Captain Blake will send exact dock location and meeting instructions after booking.

What's included in the charter?

All tackle, bait, ice, fuel, and fish cleaning are included. You just need to bring food, drinks, sunscreen, and appropriate clothing. We handle everything else.

What should I bring?

Food and drinks (we have a cooler onboard), sunscreen, sunglasses, rain gear, non-marking shoes. For offshore trips, motion sickness medication is recommended if you're prone to it — take it the night before.

Can beginners fish offshore?

Absolutely. Captain Blake has guided thousands of first-time offshore anglers. We handle all the technical work — rigging, driving the boat, finding the fish. You hold the rod and enjoy the fight.

What fish will we catch?

Accepted Answer

It depends on the season and trip type. Offshore: yellowfin tuna peak November through March, wahoo and mahi-mahi are best spring through summer, and swordfish are available year-round. Inshore: redfish and speckled trout are caught year-round with peak action in spring and fall. Captain Blake will target whatever's biting best on your trip date.

Can we keep our fish?

Yes! We clean and bag your catch at the dock. All fish are kept within Louisiana regulations and our self-imposed ethical limits (3 trophy-size fish per boat). We can also arrange to have your fish shipped home.

Where exactly is Venice, Louisiana?

Venice is at the very tip of Southeast Louisiana, about 75 miles south of New Orleans at the end of Highway 23. It's the last town before the Gulf of Mexico — which is exactly why the fishing is so incredible.

How do I get to Venice?

Fly into Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport (MSY). Venice is a 2-hour drive south. We can recommend hotels and lodges in Venice and nearby communities.

Where should I stay?

There are several fishing lodges and rental properties in Venice and Port Sulphur. We'll send recommendations with your booking confirmation. Most guests stay 1-2 nights.

What happens in bad weather?

Captain Blake makes the final call on safety. If conditions are unsafe, we'll reschedule or issue a full refund — your safety always comes first. Light rain doesn't stop us — the fish still bite.

Is offshore fishing safe?

Yes. Both Captain Blake and Captain Lakelynn are USCG licensed and insured. Our boats are equipped with all required safety gear, electronics, and communication equipment. We take safety seriously.

What if I get seasick?

Take motion sickness medication (Dramamine or Bonine) the night before and morning of your trip. Eat a light breakfast, stay hydrated, and focus on the horizon if you start feeling off. Most guests who prepare are fine. The catamaran hull design also provides a more stable ride than traditional V-hulls.

What kind of boat do you use?

Our offshore vessel is a 38-foot Bluefin Catamaran powered by four 300hp Yamaha outboards. It's built for speed, stability, and comfort on the open Gulf. The catamaran hull provides a smoother ride than traditional V-hulls, which means less fatigue and less seasickness.

Is there a bathroom on board?

Yes. The boat has a fully enclosed marine head (bathroom) with privacy. No need to worry about that on a 10-hour trip.

Is there shade on the boat?

Yes. The boat has a covered cabin area and a full T-top for shade. You can get out of the sun whenever you need to — which is important on full-day Gulf trips. We recommend sunscreen regardless.

What about tipping?

Tipping is appreciated but never required. The industry standard is around 20%, split among the crew. If Captain Blake or the crew went above and beyond, tips are a great way to show it.
