Terms of Service

These terms apply to every charter booked with Devine Sportfishing (“we,” “us”), operated by Captains Blake and Lakelynn Devine out of Venice, Louisiana, and to your use of devinesportfishing.com. By booking a trip or using the site, you agree to them.

Booking and deposits

• A date is reserved only once we confirm it and receive a 20% deposit.
• The balance is due on the day of the trip unless we agree otherwise in writing.
• Published prices (offshore from $2,500/day, inshore from $900/day) cover the boat, captain, tackle, bait, ice, and fish cleaning for the stated number of passengers. Gratuity for the crew is not included and is at your discretion.
• Prices and availability can change until a deposit is received.

Cancellations and rescheduling

• Deposits are non-refundable, with exceptions for family emergencies or repeated weather cancellations at our discretion.
• No refunds are given for cancellations within 7 days of the trip date.
• Deposits remain valid for one year from the original date to reschedule.
• Arriving late shortens your trip; it does not extend it. A no-show forfeits all payments.

Weather and safety

The captain alone decides whether conditions are safe to run. If we cancel for weather or mechanical reasons before departure, you may reschedule or receive a full refund of any payment for that trip. If conditions force us to return early after departure, the trip is charged in proportion to time on the water.

Guests must follow the captain's and crew's instructions at all times. We may end a trip without refund if a guest's conduct, intoxication, or disregard for safety puts anyone at risk.

Licenses, regulations, and the catch

• Guests are responsible for any required Louisiana fishing license unless we tell you at booking that the trip is covered. We will point you to where to buy one.
• All fish are kept, tagged, or released according to Louisiana and federal regulations, seasons, and limits, and the captain's judgment. Some species are catch-and-release.
• Your legal catch is cleaned and bagged at the dock. Transport and storage after that is up to you.

Assumption of risk and liability

Offshore and inshore fishing involve inherent risks, including rough seas, seasickness, sun exposure, and injury from fish, hooks, and equipment. By boarding, each guest accepts those risks for themselves and any minors in their care. Guests should disclose medical conditions that could be affected by a day on the water.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Devine Sportfishing, its captains, and crew are not liable for personal injury, lost or damaged property, or indirect or consequential losses arising from a charter, except where caused by our gross negligence or willful misconduct. We carry the insurance and U.S. Coast Guard licensing required for our operation.

Gift certificates

Gift certificates are redeemable toward any charter, are transferable, and do not expire. They cannot be redeemed for cash and are subject to availability and the cancellation terms above once a date is booked.

Photos

We love sharing our guests' catches. We may photograph trips and use those photos on our website and social media. If you would rather not appear, just tell the captain before the trip and we will leave you out.

Content on this site is provided for information and is ours or used with permission. Do not copy or reuse it without consent. Catch sizes, seasons, and conditions described on the site are typical, not guaranteed. Fishing is fishing.

Governing law and changes
